Redesigning The Darkest Evil
I am working to redesign the Darkest Evil so I can see what I can do to find out more about myself and I want to finish up Blackthorne. This redesign of my weblog includes a logo, a cool little printed version, a business card template and other things about the site. And this redesign hopefully gets me into design galleries such as Light on Dark. But I really hope that it gets a few people reading my site as I believe that everything I write about my life experiences can help people. In fact, even though some of it is really random, other things are really helpful to some. And with the podcast I am creating, I want to be able to promote the latest episode and still be able to avoid alienating my current readers.
Based on K2/Redoable - Yes, I am basing this on K2 (the great WordPress theme by Binary Bonsai) and Redoable (the great K2-derivation by Dean J. Robinson). So, I am already standing on the shoulders of very creative professionals and I believe that the people who have created K2 and Dean from Redoable have done a great job in creating a beautiful style for WordPress that plays so nicely with other plugins. So, basically, I want to build on these two themes and create something better. And yes, I do intend to release it to the public as “Blackthorne” a couple months after creating it (gotta test it out myself and be unique, you know?).
Better usage of space - I hate useless whitespace! I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! This is why I am going to try to find a way to use my space on this blog better so you can see more information that I put on the web. In fact, I am working to link in my Facebook mini-fee, my Twitter feed, What I’ve recently bookmarked on del.icio.us and other information. In fact, I am working on this technology and to build a version of it for kylekorleski.com (will discuss later). But I believe that if I use space better, you will be able to get more information from this site. In fact, I am adding my tag cloud, my archives and other data.
Dark Design - Like my original plans, I am planning to make my site’s design dark. I love it and I believe that it would be awesome to create a dark design for my own blog. Dorkly Cute, Grace for Living and theanime.net are all getting lighter to medium toned designs but I want this site’s design to be very, very dark and beautiful. I love dark design in websites, I love dark clothing and I love darker coloured computers. In fact, I remember talking to my girlfriend about having black roses at our wedding, just because I thought that they would look awesome.
