Differences in my writing and blogging styles
In my writing, there are a couple of differences between in my writing style versus my blogging style. And you will know more about that once you see the book I am writing. I plan to keep hush about the project and I hope that everyone who reads my book will become pleasantly surprised. But I know that some people will read this blog and go “Kyle, if you can barely write a blog - how can you POSSIBLY write a book? It has to be longer than all the posts of your blog combined in order to be considered a book rather than a pamphlet.” And the thing is I agree with them, because I know I have two different literary styles.
My blogging style is very fast paced. I usually have a topic I want to speak about, write it, check it very quickly for misspelling and I check the facts and references. If all looks good, then I hit the publish button and it goes straight onto the blog. And not only that, but I combine paid postings with my regular postings - which have only two differences (PayPerPost disclosure badge and marked in the Paid category). My blogging style is quick, informative and I try to write a new post every day. My blog posts generally contain somewhere in the neighbourhood of 200-300 words in a post.
However, my writing style is way different. I am a very nitpicky author and I want to do the best job I can. My current literary project is based on a single idea but I build into it, working on establishing the character’s background the type of person she is now, the kind of person she becomes and the kind of person she will become in the later chapters of the book. My rough draft is edited many, many times by myself before I even think of sending it to the publisher. Plus, my book will probably have 30,000-70,000 words in it. It will be massive, it will be a work of art and best of all, it will be well thought out by me and my publisher.
