A picture a day, means the iSight should stay

Monday, May 7th, 2007

I have been wanting to do this for a long time and now, I am going to do this. I am going to try to make a honest effort to take at least one picture of myself and upload it to Flickr every day. For those of you uninitiated with my computer setup, I own a MacBook Pro so this should be really easy. So I am going to use an iSight camera (which is equipped just above the monitor), Apple’s fun little Photo Booth application, Tristan O’Tierney’s FlickrBooth, and a Pro Flickr Account. So this is what I am using for my equipment, so now - I have very little excuse to do this. So, let’s let the fun begin and I’ll explain how I plan to go about this. (more…)

My secret project: 15art.com

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

Now that I have secured the name - I can announce my secret project. Yes, 15art.com was my secret project that I am talking about and it is still under development. It is a my personal portfolio and also includes programmes and plugins I have made - as well as a design portfolio, a manga style sketchbook, a couple of manga series that I have been wanting to do and it integrates with content on my blog here. It will do more in the near future but I am working to make sure it can handle THIS. (more…)

Delayed ETAs and Bon Jovi on repeat

Monday, January 8th, 2007

Okay, so I got burned by another girl. Yeah, this was NOT cool. But the cool thing was that she was a little less rotten than other girls that I have talked to online. I am just so tired of this and I would just like to find someone that I can hold and embrace. Someone that I can walk life’s path with. Someone that will accept and appreciate me for everything that I am. Someone that will love me with an agape love that I will love them with. You see, I have never been loved by another human being. Not my family, no girlfriends and no reliable friends in this world. I am not very popular because I refuse to conform to other people’s standards.

I am not in the mood to talk to many people. And if you do wish to talk to me, you had better be able to withstand many minutes, if not hours, of ranting about how hard it is to find someone of the opposite sex that will love you. About how everyone with a loving family or close, reliable friends is blessed. I am not in a mood to pretend to be happy. Forgive me if I refuse to respond to your private messages or what not, I would not be in a good mood anyways. I am also writing a whole number of posts for four days (8 posts) so I don’t have to respond to comments. It’s evil, I know, but I am not in the mood to play comment police.

To my faithful clients: You will receive everything you ordered. Plus, I will remember this when you want another project so you will very likely save money on your next project. However, when life continuously shits on you, it does not allow you to focus on your work. It’s only two days more in many cases and I apologise for the additional time required. I just need time to centre myself.

Bad hair day?

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

Okay, so I decided against my better judgement to give myself a haircut with my electric shaver. That did NOT go well. After about a hour and a half, I gave up and left the task for later. My hair was short enough so who would give a shit? I went to the closet, got the broom and worked on sweeping up the remaining hair that had fallen on the floor. I was DONE until I could get a pair of scissors. If I could have gotten scissors, I would have been able to do a much better job. Here is a picture of me from today with my new ‘do.

Why my image and name are copyrighted/trademarked

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

My image and name are copyrighted/trademarked for certain security reasons and personally. This is mainly to protect me if I try to apply for a job and a person Googles my name. I allow free usage of it under the following licence:

  1. It is used alongside content that is not libellous, harmful, obscene, harassing, threatening or infringes on the property rights of others.
  2. It is used with attribution to thedarkestevil.com
  3. All other purposes must be preapproved by Kyle Korleski.

The reasoning behind this? Well, the reason is that I am new in Canada and I cannot have people soiling my record when my employer Googles my name. Now, Nicholi is a very gracious person but I can’t take any chances if people are going to abuse my image like this. Besides, what of Citizenship and Immigration Canada? What if a CIC visa officer abroad or in Canada came across libellous content that I did not write and assumed that I was somehow associated with it? That would probably raise a few questions to the visa officer and I would probably be asked to attend an interview at a consulate abroad.

Therefore, I decided to file for a trademark at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and I hold a copyright to my own name. I would highly recommend that any expatriate that is being harassed like I am to do the same. I am not liable for content that I do not write myself.

Software I purchased this year/

Friday, December 29th, 2006

This is a list of all the software I purchased this year, whether it was for my MacBook Pro or for my Windows PC that I used to own.

Applications that I Purchased

  • Acquisition - A file sharing app for the Macintosh platform.
  • Adobe Creative Suite 2 - A set of cool Adobe applications. I usually only use Photoshop though.
  • Apple Aperture - A cool photo editing and arranging app.
  • Chroma - A media player that I bought. I shouldn’t have though, it wasn’t all that great.
  • CSSEdit - A cool little CSS editing app.
  • Delicious Library - A cool app that will allow you to scan in your books, DVDs and other media so you can index them and keep track of them. Uses your iSight to read the barcodes and pulls data from Amazon.ca.
  • FlickrExport for iPhoto - It’s a pretty cool app that allows me to upload my photos to Flickr from my digital camera after they are imported into iPhoto.
  • Keepsake - Come to think of it, I am not entirely sure what this game is about.
  • Microsoft Office for Mac - We should all know what this is.
  • Neverwinter Nights for Mac - Yes, this includes the two expansion packs as well. I had to get those so I could play NWN to it’s fullest.
  • Neverwinter Nights 2 Chaotic Evil Edition - I hear it’s a pretty cool game. I hope I get to play it once Game.co.uk delivers my copy.
  • Parallels - For those times when I need a test Linux environment
  • Postal 2 - The ultra-violent offencive game from Running With Scissors.
  • Spymac Club - A series of applications for people to connect to the SpyMac community.
  • TextMate - A great text editor for the Mac.
  • Transmit - A very nice FTP app.

Photographic Discovery

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

I learned about the use of a more sturdy platform than my own hands. Basically, I placed it on the bible I had at Drama in Ministry class. I am going to need to know how to make my hands more sturdy. When I placed my camera onto the bible in drama in ministry class, I got this:

IMGP0512

And in my own hands, I usually get something like this:

IMGP0518

Does anyone have any idea about what I am doing wrong?
