Yesterday, I got a telephone call from a good friend of mine. For privacy’s sake, I am going to leave his name out of it. However, he called me because he got a call from the evil people at Alberta Bible College. They asked Gary to tell me to take down what I have written about Alberta Bible College. Much like other kinds of con artists, the directors at Alberta Bible College want to remove the proof that they are involved in fraudulent activity. They do not want the truth to be broadcasted that I was screwed and lied to at Alberta Bible College. They are afraid that what I have written will actively alert people of the corruption at Alberta Bible College. I will evaluate why this is a con and what I intend to do. (more…)

I’m not going to sugarcoat the truth or lie about things. The people who read my blog day in and day out know that I am not one to lie or falsify reality. But recently, Becca had made the decision to end our relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. I wish her well in all that she does and I’m just happy that she treated me with the respect and dignity I deserve. She didn’t lie to me or deceive me like Miranda did. Or like Chelsea did. But I am not happy about the situation at all. In fact, I am quite unhappy because I had high hopes for this relationship. (more…)

When I was about to go take a shower today, I noticed that my stomach is a bit bigger than I’d like to see. This means that I am going to have to start eating better. But of course, there is also the poverty diet that I am currently going through. Therefore, I am going to try to cut down on drinking soft drinks and start drinking juices instead. I am going to try more healthy alternatives to the snacks I love and of course, I might save some money in the process. On top of that, when I am not talking with my girl online or assisting a client, I will run or do some sort of physical activity and I will do it more often. There are a bunch of reasons why but only one actually stands out: (more…)

I just got the notice that tomorrow, I will not have a place to live. This sucks immensely because I am going to have to see if I can crash with a friend and work my ass off doubletime to ensure that I get enough money to make the rent for another place here in Calgary. That is going to suck immensely but it does give me new opportunities to find a new place. Plus, there were things about this place that made me cringe. Mainly, the biggest things were the the landlord, how EVERYTHING broke quite easily/never worked in the first place, the rules, the interruptions in the operation of vital services (the two biggest being water and electricity) and of course the quality of roommates. I will address each of the issues below: (more…)

A friend of mine back in the states is a member of the Marines and unfortunately, his sister does not want to hear about how the United States military is corrupt. While I would normally stop talking about this and just shut up, Nate is a good friend of mine. I cannot see him serving in the US military because he’s just too good of a human being. The US military is so very corrupt and that is because it is currently run by a very corrupt administration. But with people like Nate’s sister unwilling to look at the problems in their public servants, just because it might put their family in a bad light, this creates a lot of problems. (more…)

I am working on a community of all my sites and I am working on the THL community and I wonder - should I review my community management practices? I mean, I want to make sure that the community respects the admins but I also want to make sure that the admins EARN respect through their actions and practices. I have decided to outline a couple of my core beliefs for a community to function and I hope to govern and live by them. Besides, I would not want to be like a certain admin. (more…)

I am working on a new film and yes, I am going to be working with some friends of mine to help make it. While I am still looking for a publisher for the book, I have decided to produce the film with Brave New Films, considering their films about bigger evils like Wal-Mart and Fox News. I am going to try to talk with the people at Chapters and at FMV to stock the books and DVDs (respectively), considering that this is a HUGE threat in Canada and abroad. (more…)

Okay, if you have travelled around the blogosphere yesterday, you could have seen a number of posts about the iPhone that is about to come out from Apple. Various rants include the iPhone has no keypad, it has a touchscreen, . And others express their unwavering desire to own one. And those at the Keynote dwell on the fact that the iPhone stole the show. I sympathize with the developers of the ModBook though, after all, we just recieved the ultimate cellphone. And if the developers of the ModBook can’t honestly say that they would wait hours in line to make sure they had the first one in their area, we know they are lying. We have Blackberry addicts joining the fray and Apple’s stock climbing.
Let’s face the facts. Apple is changing the game and we all just hit the jackpot. Or so you’d think. You see, we ALL haven’t won nor will we all win equally. You see, the iPhone is coming out, in the United States, in June 2007. And for those of us wanting to flee the states, have already fled the states or are currently in limbo based on visa options - we have to wait until Q4 2007 for an European iPhone and until 2008 for an iPhone in Asia. And where does Canada lie in all this? Certainly, Canada is NOT the United States but then again, is Canada European or (dare I say it) Asian? Or is there no ETA for the iPhone in Canada? It would make sense after all, most carriers here in Canada (Telus, Rogers, Fido, Bell, etc) are proprietary and do not respect the customer where they can purchase their phone and switch carriers freely. Before I go to sleep tonight in an attempt to reprogramme my biological clock, I want to let you know that I don’t just get my inspiration from other people for this blog. A lot of my inspiration comes from random events that happen to me on a daily basis. I am going to tell you the story of how I got completely lost trying to turn some cans and bottles in to the recycling centre in Crowfoot. You see, I needed $2.25 for the bus fare and I needed it before tomorrow because tomorrow is the day that Mrs. Dypvik-Galts cuts the cheques for students that still have a balance on their accounts.
The road to Crowfoot was not too long and certainly not arduous. In fact, the Ranchlands are not too far from the Crowfoot Crossing. I walked there, prepared my bottles for recycling and then did that and got about $2.55 for my empty bottles. W00t! But the road back was arduous, because I went the wrong way to get back. At first, I thought that I was going the right way and I thought I recognized some of the houses. But when I saw the sign that said “Citadel”, I knew there was a problem. There was an Esso gas station so I walked in and asked for directions back to the Ranchlands. He told me to go down Nose Hill road and it’ll run into John Laurie Blvd. Of course, I know that John Laurie Blvd. crosses with Ranchlands Blvd. and thus, will get me home.
So I trudged along Nose Hill road until I got to Sarcee Trail. I was getting tired and thirsty. I was wanting a nice cool glass of water to drink so I could replenish my resources. I came across an old man and I asked him for some help. He said that I can take a shortcut by going down Sarcee Trail. The hitch is that there are no sidewalks. I thought that this would not be a problem so I took it. Boy was I wrong! I kept stumbling and I nearly fell flat on my face. However, I noticed that if I climbed to the top of the slope, I would have a much easier trip to John Laurie. So I made the climb up and for a time I was right. However, there were a couple of patches of soft ground that almost made me fall off the slope and into incoming traffic. (more…)

I hate the idea that people make resolutions that they have no intention of keeping only when the earth’s odometre rolls over. It seems that it is enough to make people believe that they have a new lease on life. Personally, I believe the route of change should happen throughout the new year, especially when one realizes it is needed the most. However, I have reviewed what I want out of life and this is what I have come up with:
- Gain a bit more notoriety on the web/in my new home - I would like to be as big as Bryan Veloso, Mr. Fab or Shaun Inman. My weblog has been getting a bit more activity since I have been writing more often and using traffic services like BlogMad, but that is not enough. I need to do more to get my name out there. I would also like to be recognized in Calgary for my blog so I am also going to write replying to more local news.
- Finish up Blackthorne - Blackthorne (for the uninitiated) is a themeset that I have been working on for the past month. I am confident that I can get it done and coded before February 14th, especially since I cannot afford the bus pass for this month so my mobility is going to be dramatically hindered. Doesn’t mean that I can’t go to crowfoot and cash in my bottles to buy bus fare to get to the college to return some books. I should probably do that on Wednesday though, it will save time and money in the long run.
- Get into a serious relationship - I would like to get into a serious relationship. Need I say more?
- Fully convert to Buddhism - I would like to convert to Buddhism and seek a path of reason and truth. Right now, I could still be considered a Christian that just doesn’t go to church. I would like to be so much more than that and I would love to convert to Buddhism so I can clean my mind of my past practises and strive toward a brighter future.
- Get my work permit - Nicholi, if you are reading this, please submit your company to Alberta Registries. Now.
Those are my five new years resolutions. This is what is truly important to me right now and I would personally like to thank you for reading through my sappy drivel but hey, it was enough to spice up my life.
