Halfway Hoser

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006

Some people ask me how it is that I can hold a Canadian domain when I am not yet a full Canadian. Or something like this:

[4:29 AM] (SupaFly): Hey Kyle, are you a full Canadian yet.
[4:30 AM] (@KyleofAlberta): Nah, not that lucky. It’ll take a little while.
[4:33 AM] (SupaFly): So what are you? Canadian or American.
[4:34 AM] (@KyleofAlberta): If you are not willing to accept the fact that I am both Canadian and American, I guess you could call me a halfway-hoser.
[4:35 AM] (SupaFly): lol

Working on the OpenID server

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

Basically, what I have been doing all day (besides the daily surfing of blogs, torrenting and watching anime) is working on the OpenID service which shall be implemented into the new site. However, it will be for semi-open registration. It’s only for me and anyone who has hosting with Kyle of Alberta.

Switched back to Firefox and considering going back to Flock

Friday, July 21st, 2006

It turns out that Deepest Sender isn’t THAT much better. Turns out that neither offers trackback systems, the more seperator nor correct XHTML syntax. Bump that shit! I am going to turn back to Flock because, while it may not be as extensible as firefox, at least it works.

Well, at least I had a good breakfast

Super Dell found not guilty for gun charges

Friday, July 21st, 2006

PC Owner “Super” Dell Schanze was charged about a month ago for allegedly pulling a pistol on his neighbours. However, a jury found Schanze not guilty of the weapons charge but guilty for making a false written statement to the police, according to the Detroit Times.

Schanze was accused of pulling a 10mm Glock on residents of Draper, Utah, after they chased him. The residents alleged that Schanze raced down the street their children had been playing on, at unsafe speeds. Schanze claims that he only pulled the weapon in the defence of him and his 8 year old daughter who was a passenger in his Jaguar. Schanze pleaded guilty to the reckless driving charges and went to trial on the other charges.

Ah well, I can’t blame the courts, after all, it’s only natural to put anything even remotely associated with Dell under scrutiny.

Got fired from Pirate Reports

Friday, July 21st, 2006

Sadly, as of this morning I got axed from the Pirate Reports team. The sad thing is that I did what I could to assist Howard and do what he needed done but he decided to be an ass and fire me. Good riddance, I wouldn’t want to work for a company that treats people like that anyways. (more…)

Less love for 1&1

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

When I was reviewing my PayPal Resolution Centre for the status on the three current disputes. I came across the fact that Sedo is trying to keep the money for their sad-ass job of trying to help me keep my domain already at 1and1. Turns out they are out for every drop of blood possible. I started searching for more anti-1&1 pages to help prospective customers. I am working on creating a page full of links to 1&1 information sites and blog posts. If you have more 1&1 information for me, send it to 1and1links[AT]kyleofalberta[DOT]ca and I will look at it. No spam, please. ^_^;;

Readership is growing, time to redesign the blog/site

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

I just found out that Kyle of Alberta recently recieved 96th place on BlogTopsites.com and I am really happy about this. This means readership is going up but there is one small problem. My layout still sucks and none of the main content is up. THAT has to change soon so I am contacting my good friend Razzy (his website is located at RazzPersonal.com). He does great work and I am really proud of him. (more…)

A reminder of the death of the Dell

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

When I was browsing blogs today, I came across an article that reminded me about the time that the Dell finally died. The hard drives were going bad, the additional 512MB I purchased for it wasn’t helping and booting into Debian well hell. And finally, once I was sure that I could no longer use the damn thing in a practical manner (not even as a file server peeps!) I took out a sledgehammer from the garage and said goodbye to that piece of shit forever (Dell Inspiron 1100. 2003 - 2005).

Matt is having his cronies attack me

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

Matt (not Matt of http://www.razzpersonal.com/, Razzy is a solid friend and I appreciate everything he has done for me) has started placing flak about me on his AIM Away message and telling people to spam me via IM all because I blocked him via IM. I rarely ban people and I see it as a last-resort measure. (more…)
