A few things to blog about

Monday, July 17th, 2006

My little sister’s friend is coming from the United Kingdom soon (dunno the exact details) but I want to say that my sister was so depressed when she left and I am glad that Jami can be back in my sister’s life to make her feel better again. I know I teased her about Jami leaving and all that but in retrospect, I feel bad about it all. (more…)

The Azureus Green feels so good.

Monday, July 17th, 2006

I think I just got Azureus to work to it’s fullest! This is wonderful because I am temporarily utilising my neighbour’s Internet Connection to recieve my Internet access. I never thought I’d see the Azureus green again, but I just saw it no more than a few minutes ago. I was fiddling with the settings in Azureus due to the fact that I saw that even though I had downloaded 310.12MB out of 4349.27MB, I still saw the torrent completion at 1.9%. This is due to the fact that the torrent still has a large amount of uncompleted pieces in it. (more…)

Slow Bittorrent

Monday, July 17th, 2006

You know how sometimes, you get these torrents that seem to be slower than molasses? I have one and it’s for an Anime program called Azumanga Daioh. I don’t exactly know what the deal is but I have seeded 291.02MB and downloaded 286.95MB and the entire thing is like 4GB or so. Furthermore, it appears at it may take forever to get this data via Bittorrent. I know it isn’t my internet connection due to the fact that I have attempted to download Openoffice.org and was able to do it at an alarming speed. (more…)

Godaddy Backorders Suck

Saturday, July 15th, 2006

My old domain, theanime.net is now owned by the sleaziest mother fuckers in the world. Domain squatters. These people are the scum of the Internet World. Even worse than spammers and phishers. Why it is that Verisign, CIRA and other organisations publish the expiration info enmasse. (more…)

We plan on offering hosting for fan listings once the main site comes back online. However, please note that there are still a few kinks to be worked out and I hope everything goes as planned. (more…)

Change of Plans: Not going to WordCamp

Saturday, July 15th, 2006

Sorry to say, but do to a long-standing change in my plans I am afraid I will be unable to attend the WordCamp WordPress conference. This is due to many reasons - but I would have to say the financial reasons are the most pressing. (more…)

Immigration details aren’t working out.

Friday, July 14th, 2006

Unfortunately, my attempts at immigrating into Canada are failing and this is very likely due to hard paper experience. And this also turns off potential employers. However, there are a few viable options and all of them seem to put my immigration off for a few years. Even then, I will have a lot of trouble finding work with no college education as of yet. One reason to hate my job

Thursday, July 13th, 2006

Working with the Internet’s Sleaze. You know, the kind of people that perform the lowest of the low internet actions. Steal domains, spam people, lie to you stating that they do not spam people, have you do work for them and then request a chargeback once you do the work for them. In fact, why don’t I tell the story right now. (more…)

How to stop the spamming of your blog - a few tips

Thursday, July 13th, 2006

Okay, there are numerous ways to stop the spamming of your blog. I have listed a few tools that you could use to protect YOUR blog from spammers. But remember that no tool is perfect and you should only run one anti-spam tool at a time because a lot of times, they don’t play well. (more…)

A number of spam comments

Thursday, July 13th, 2006

You know, I want free discussion on my blog as well as free expression but, oh so sadly, we have to put up with lamers from sites like Kyle of Alaska or Greg Platano (see blog entries: Creepy convo with a spammer, IM attack #2 and the Imposter v. Kyle of Alberta). I tried contacting Freewebs about this little lamer, and here’s how it went down: (more…)
