My top 5 Internet annoyances.
I am irked by so many things when it comes to the Internet but here’s what pisses me off the most:
- Bad spelling and grammar. It does not make you look very intelligent when you use bad spelling and grammar. I don’t find acronyms offencive in and of themselves. I just find them offencive if they are used way too often. Like “OMG WTF BBQ“. What the hell? I am not going to place bad punctuation in here because I will address it next.
- Newbie spelling, leet spelling and over/incorrect capitalization and punctuation. Okay, this is as annoying as hell. If you use newbie spelling (hey dude, wtz up?), leet spelling (|-|3j, ‘//|-|47′5 (_)|* |-|4><0/2?), or over/incorrect capitalization/punctuation (Hey, what’s up!!1one!) I will nuke your comment on the spot. Seriously.
- MySpace Layouts. These things suck immensely. Aside from being incompatible with many browsers, they are usually littered with Youtube or Google Videos. And of course, annoying shit that I just don’t want to see.
- Background Music on web pages. I am glad you like Reliant K. Seriously. But just because you like him, does not mean that when I visit your website, I necessarily want to hear one of their songs interrupt what I am already playing in iTunes.
- Spam. I am not going to list the various reasons why people shouldn’t buy Viagra off the Internet. And trust me, there are a lot of reasons that you shouldn’t buy medication off the Internet. I just don’t like all the porn links and what not. This is an illicit and annoying way to get page rank and I, for one, do not care for it.

#1: That’s why Firefox 2 comes very handy. It tells me if I use a wrong spelling in real time. However, there’s no cure for bad grammar. And since English is not my first tounge, it gets harder.
#2: No, you’re wrong… It’s cool… 10 years ago
#3: No comment on this one since I don’t own a MySpace account.
#4: One reason that it’s annoying, it hogs up the bandwith. Especially if you’re using GPRS/EDGE/UMTS or other kind of volume-based internet connection.
#5: You mean spamlog? How do you find one? I mean, sure there are gazillions on the net but they’re specifically designed for search engine (meaning that it’s very hard to find by us humans). I for one only come across some of them (and that’s because they’re kinda stealing my contents…)
PS: Thanks for visiting by!

1. Yes, I love also that they have a Canadian English dictionary so you can rotate your colourful tires too. And I am sorry that your mother tongue is not English. It is hard to learn a new language.
2. Yes, but keep in mind that I do this for a living. It’s not cool when your profession becomes battling these fartknockers.
3. Good for you. I had to so I could keep in touch with my friends.
4. Yeah, I guess that’s another reason why it would be annoying.
5. Simple. You run a blog and wait for spamlogs to come to you. Ouch, yeah, I have seen some of the spam on your site. Listen, you need to take control of your blog and I would highly recommend the Akismet spam plugin. It works wonders for my site and if you combine that with the alteration of certain settings on your blog, you will be able to fight spam more effectively.

I can agree with all, especially #4. That one really annoys me.

@Kyle: Really? Where did you spot it (is it on comments?)? Several days ago it does got flooded with spam because I “accidentally” turned off the spam karma plugin T_T

Yes, I saw a few comments filter through.
