Some misguided advice from my uncle
I still have relations in California. My uncle James Richardson and my aunt Lori Korleski-Richardson are a couple of the few family members that I enjoy speaking with. However, at times, their advice can suggest things that are not in my best interest. Or covertly condescending and rude. I don’t meant to seem ungrateful for the encouragement that he does give me but I just wish that there weren’t hurtful statements or accusations embedded in his words.
Kyle,
I have been reading your blog. Your item about what not do when you get a job is wise, and I do hope you keep in mind the advice you are giving yourself (good advice). However, has it occurred to you that any potential employer is likely to google your name and find that blog? What you have written will scare off virtually every employer on the planet, not to mention a potential girlfriend. Let me suggest you find a way to get that off the web. Please take this as very friendly avuncular advice.

So, what is wrong with this passage? Do you think this is good advice? Does it look dubiously wise? Well, let me dissect it so that you can see what is wrong with it. It suggest that I do several things that would be completely wrong and immoral.
First, he usually starts off with a compliment. This time, it’s about my post that was inspired by Mr. Fabulous’ article “”. I wrote that solely to remind myself of the advice that Mr. Fab gave considering that it might not be too long before I start working soon. And I need to get a job really soon. The rent from Shush is starting to get to be so high and it is starting to burn me terribly. But fortunately, he is very forgiving and he is willing to extend the deadline while I scour vB.org for independent jobs. Shush is a honourable man and I thank him greatly for all that he has done for me. Plus, I can’t call myself a Young Professional without a Profession.
But he goes to say that many employers would go to Google my name and find this blog. In fact, I hope that they do. That is why I am working really hard to integrate this with my own portfolio, as well as my del.icio.us account, my Flickr account and very possibly, other accounts. I know for a fact that there are many companies with a great corporate culture that would look favourably on my accomplishments and my blog. Companies such as Neko Bat and Moo.com might be very interested in this information. Plus, to get a job at Automattic, you have to have a blog. Furthermore, depending on whether or not I can get Canadian Citizenship/Permanent Residence or if I have to go to the United Kingdom/Ireland - I will probably try to set up my own company.
Furthermore, the Internet Archive already has copies of my blog and I would feel bad about asking them removing my content seeing as it now belongs to the Internet public. I have released all my content under a Creative Commons licence. Therefore, while this is a resource for many people, it would not be untruthful to say that while this benefits me most as it allows me to vent about how much life sucks - it benefits others as well. In fact, this is why I blog.
A relationship must have several things and I am looking for an agape type of relationship with someone that can understand me and accept me for who I am. The perfect girl for me would understand that everything that I have written is based off of my emotions at the time of penning it. I refuse to remove it considering that it would be dishonest to do so. I would probably date a fellow blogger considering that SHE would know that there are special circumstances for blogging. Plus, not only that but it would do well to date a fellow artist/designer or an art/design enthusiast.
