Happy April 20th! (4/20)

I wanted to make sure that I made a post today, considering what today is and all. After all, it only comes once a year. So prepare to read my first tribute to this glorious 4/20. What am I talking about? For those who don’t know - 4/20 or 4:20 refers to marijuana. It is widely accepted that in 1971, a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in San Rafael, California, calling themselves “The Waldos”, used to meet every day after school at 4:20 PM. to smoke marijuana at the Louis Pasteur statue. To this day, many pot smokers continue to observe 4:20 as a time to smoke communally. By extension April 20 has evolved into a quasi-holiday, where people gather to celebrate and smoke pot.

Many things happened on this day and continue to happen on this day. Pot activists use Ontario’s Highway 420 as the site of an annual cannabis rally. And it’s only fitting that I make this post at 4:20pm on 4/20. And I wish that everyone who wants to toke today has a happy toke, free of those weird hallucinations. And even then, no one says that you have to smoke pot to enjoy 4/20. You can consume an “enhanced brownie” or how about enjoying a nice cup of “hot pot chocolate”. Or you can write a satarical post on your blog about the day - like I decided to do. ^_^

THere’s quite a bit of “Drug Free” anti-pot “celebrations” that go on here, where the schools / after school groups in the community try to give kids something else to do other than go out and cause trouble and smoke pot. I think there’s a big free bbq or something.
