I hate flights…
I hate flying. I hate everything ABOUT flying. I hate the ascending, the descending (other than the fact that I am going to be able to put my feet on the ground and maybe get something decent to eat), the fact that they do not serve any good food/soft drinks, the overpriced food on the flight, the fact that you can’t bring food on the plane and numerous other problems that come with flying.
Today, I will be ranting about the PEOPLE on the flights. Namely, the people you are seated next to. Most times, on the return trip from the US to Canada (or Japan to Canada/the UK to Canada), you usually don’t have many people seated on the plane so it’s very likely that you will not be seated next to anyone. Leaving Calgary though, is a pain due to the fact that the person seated next to you is either (1) obnoxious, (2) an asshole or (3) too dominating.
And I also hate that my laptop runs out of juice in 1 hour, but that has nothing to do with flying. However, flying is better than driving there in a vehicle.

I always drive if I can. I loves me the open road! Can’t wait to get where I am going for all the gay sex! LOL

Hi Kyle…I hate flying, too. And my discomfort/dislike of every aspect of air-travel seems to grow as I age. Unfortunately, it’s really the only *efficient* way to get to the U.S. from Sweden, so I suck it up and do the trans-Atlantic thing at least once a year alternating between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I’m already dreading the flight I will be taking in November!
Thanks for commenting at ShazzerSpeak. Do you have “light issues” in the summer time, too?

Unfortunately, due to my line of work, most of the conferences are located in America so I have to fly. A lot. And the fact that my vehicle isn’t suited for that type of travel is another thing forcing me to fly. I HAVE written letters to the Star Alliance and Air Canada about every topic I have specified.

“…flying is better than driving there in a vehicle.”
Depends on the vehicle and the route!
I like flying… I admit I still get a we charge out of even the airport experience! Mind you, I haven’t had to take an international flight for business in over a decade… and my last business flights were all within Canada… but I’m an aviation enthusiast and as a kid, wanted to be a pilot more than one could imagine… sadly, life and reality didn’t allow that, so I get my “cheap thrills” by enjoying being a passenger… that’s despite the crumby food.
That said, the WORST moment of my life in terms of the clod sitting beside me was in the UK going from Dover to Calais on the hovercraft… I was “unwell” (nauseated - but not outright sick) and was placed next to a chap who wouldn’t shut up as he tried to convince me to assist him by allowing my “return ticket” to get him booze and cigarettes through the duty free. Aside from the fact that he didn’t understand I wasn’t returning to England (I flew out through Charles DeGaulle for home,) his nickname with me was B.O. Plenty as one had to assume by the heavy smog in the air near him that he was uncontaminated by soap and/or deodourant.
Nothing says “nightmare” like a smelly chatterbox who’s trying to convince you to become a low-level smuggler sitting next to you while you feel ill.

How about driving RLH3 from Cali to oh, let’s say, Ontario.

Totally off topic, but have you ever considered another font color? The dark grey is nearly impossible to read against the black. I’d like to actually be able to read your stuff.
Surfed in thru blogmad.

Now that would beat a flight anyday!

Serra - Yeah I was concerned about that. And now that I know it’s not just me, I will switch to the default K2 style until we get the new design ready.
Matthew - I’d agree but you’d have to implement some air conditioning because some parts of Cali can get as hot as hell.

I love flying and I always bring food on the plane. No one ever told me that I couldn’t and I have never been yelled at or anything.
