Kicked out

I just got the notice that tomorrow, I will not have a place to live. This sucks immensely because I am going to have to see if I can crash with a friend and work my ass off doubletime to ensure that I get enough money to make the rent for another place here in Calgary. That is going to suck immensely but it does give me new opportunities to find a new place. Plus, there were things about this place that made me cringe. Mainly, the biggest things were the the landlord, how EVERYTHING broke quite easily/never worked in the first place, the rules, the interruptions in the operation of vital services (the two biggest being water and electricity) and of course the quality of roommates. I will address each of the issues below:

The Landlord - He’s an asshole, basically. He runs many shitty places in Calgary with his associate, Razzy. And of course, he runs the shittiest, most dilapidated apartments in Calgary. Plus, he raises the rent when there is no real reason to do so. Not only that, but he is very demanding of people and he just cannot see the humanity in people. He treats those who work under him like dirt, not paying them any money what-so-ever and choosing the lowlifes from Calgary to house in this place.

Nothing worked - This is pretty simple. This place had things break - and often too. But then again, the guy that was initially doing the repairs was an ignorant hatemonger. The shower broke as to forbid normal usage, there was never any heat (the whole place was as cold as a witch’s teat), the electricity and wifi never really worked to begin with and the setup Shush has is slipshod. In fact, even the Telus guy who came over to fix the line commented on how badly Doug installed the telephone lines.

The rules - Don’t get me wrong, I am a firm believer in fair rules, but that’s where the problem was with Shush’s rules. They were never really fair. In fact, there were rules limiting when you can do laundry, you could not bring ANY guests over, you could not sit in the common area and chill and you could not do so many other things that would have made this place much better. Hell, you could not even play computer games in your room without getting an earful from Shush later on.

Service Interruption - I had to suffer numerous services being interrupted for long periods of time. Such services include water, electricity and heating. The heating went down in the worst possible time - during that one week where the temperature dropped to -30 Celsius. This was very bad as I was freezing my gonads off. But the heating never really worked anyway because the fucking place was always super-cold.

Roommates - This was one of the bigger problems. My two roommates were Rob and Huda. Rob was this one guy that works under the table, has sex his whore of a girlfriend (all four of them), stole shit from me and blamed me for stealing stuff - despite the fact that it never fucking happened. He was white trash and a complete asshole to boot. Not only that - but he is now a father and I’ll bet you that he’s going to be the a terrible father. Maybe not as bad as my father, but he is going to be pretty fucked up. Huda was a guy that is trying to get an engineering degree - but here’s the thing. He can’t speak English. Or French.
