R.I.P. VoodooPC, I hardly knew ye

Today we are here to mourn a great computer company, located here in Calgary. One of the last computer companies from the early 90s to evade being bought out or buying out other companies. Today, we are saddened to know that VoodooPC has been bought out by Hewlett Packard. Rahul may joke about this, but it is truly no laughing matter. When companies merge, they often take on the flaws of their predecessors. Look at Alienware - they were bought out by Dell and their systems are getting less and less reliable. Yahoo! bought out Geocities and the advertisements on Geocities sites have become more and more unbearable. HP bought out Compaq and thus, Compaq corrupted HP’s quality of support. Basically, this acquisition cannot be good for Voodoo customers. The only computer company that remains it’s own is Apple. It could have been worse. They could have been bought by Dell.
