Well, truth is that MySpace IM is not based on Jabber. It is due to the sheer fact that you have to use your e-mail address to login and more often than not, your e-mail address is not also a Jabber ID (JID). thecoldwood.com is not a Jabber-enabled domain (nor is kyleofalberta.ca for that matter) because I am on shared hosting and haven't gotten an opportunity to set up my own server. The most popular service where your e-mail address can also function as a JID is Google Mail.

So, the short answer is no. You cannot use iChat with MySpace IM.

I'm not too skilled at setting up instant messaging clients, so this may be impossible or incorrect, but I read that myspaceIM was based on a Jabber client (which honestly, I am not sure exactly what that is except some kind of protocol) but that is what I have gmail set up using my iChat instant messenger on a mac. If it's true that it is Jabber based, would it not be unreasonable to assume that at some point we could use the built in iChat for use with Myspace IM as well?
