It is due to the sheer fact that you have to use your e-mail address to login and more often than not, your e-mail address is not also a Jabber ID (JID). thecoldwood.com is not a Jabber-enabled domain (nor is kyleofalberta.ca for that matter) because I am on shared hosting and haven't gotten an opportunity to set up my own server. The most popular service where your e-mail address can also function as a JID is Google Mail. So, the short answer is no. You cannot use iChat with MySpace IM. If it's true that it is Jabber based, would it not be unreasonable to assume that at some point we could use the built in iChat for use with Myspace IM as well?
