A minty fresh Darkest Evil

Shaun Inman released Mint 2 and it looks GREAT! But there is a small problem - you have to pay to upgrade to Mint 2. In fact, you have to pay $19USD per licence and that can get to be pretty expensive if you own a large amount of licences. In fact, I will have to pay $95USD more to upgrade all of my licences to Mint 2. In fact, I really want to update all my licences to Mint 2 but I really only need 3 upgrades now. One for this site and one for my new project (coming soon) and one for theanime.net (yes, it’s going to launch soon - very soon).

The design is just awesome. There are two different Mint styles - Vanilla Mint and Mint Chocolate. I am currently using Mint Chocolate for this blog’s installation of Mint and it works fairly well. In fact, I really want to start using it on all of my sites. But of course, there is always the ability to create a Blue Mint, as Paul Stamatiou has shown us. So I won’t stress the update for myself too much but I will be updating for my more imperative sites.

I have a couple of other licences still stuck in the past but since they aren’t being used, I could care less. They can still use Mint 1 and it still works for me. But there is a secret project that I am working on that may require it. Sites such as thehatelistings.org do not require immediate Mint licences for their stats. But I am still working on it and possible integration with the Night Shaded API (yes, that is still in development). Plus, Project Anubis and Project Vampire still command a fair amount of my attention.

And it's here!
