Two big victories for my blog
Yesterday, two great things happened with my blog that will allow me to make a bit more revenue with this blog. Yesterday, my blog was accepted to two different kinds of advertising programmes. These two new advertising programmes are Text Link Ads and ReviewMe and they may very well help me get more and more paid reviews, advertisers and a new revenue stream. These programmes are much different from one another, the first providing paid advertisements in the sidebar (soon) and the other providing paid posting reviews. And I guess it is better I use these services than relying solely on my own advertising page that is buried in the About the Blog page. Furthermore, at least it’s worth giving them a try as other advertising programmes never really worked.
Text Link Ads - I am working to provide text link ads to people under the same pretences that I intended to sell them under the Advertise page. And of course, I will manually review all advertising requests to ensure appropriateness. It is because of this, that I think it would now be a good time to go through the advertising rules again and rewrite them to ensure that relevant ads are sold. These ads will be sold under my ethical principles and I will not sell ads to groups against the public interest (the Christian faith).
ReviewMe - I have been accepted for the paid review system at ReviewMe, as well. This is much better than PayPerPost because you can actually get a lot of money from this. That, and you can set the prices for the advertising sold on the blog. So, in order to make a good amount of change going with ReviewMe rather than PayPerPost. In fact, I barely made squat with PayPerPost. So, if you can, I would strongly recommend using ReviewMe rather than PayPerPost.
So, why am I doing this? Why am I even considering putting advertisements on my blog? Well, it’s got a lot to do with that revenue stream I was discussing in the first paragraph. You see, I have some pretty awesome plans for The Darkest Evil and a few of my other sites. These have a lot to do with my intention to start designing and producing merchandise for public consumption. So, I am using the revenue to purchase equipment such as a silkscreening machine and supplies. Great idea, eh?
