So, I can’t use my last name, eh?
Today, I got my head bitten off for using my own name on my blog. Can you believe that? Their argument was that it was making problems for the family. But nevertheless, I will continue to publish my content under my name. There are several reasons why I must do this but I find it a double standard. I mean, my Aunt Lori continues to publish articles in the Sacramento Bee under her maiden name and this person has barely said a word about that (as far as I know). But while I do share a last name with others, Kyle Korleski is my name. A name that was given to me by my parents.
I have a right to use my name when I write content. I have a right to use my name on this blog or anywhere I wish. I should not be put down for using my own name because my name is just that. Do I share a last name with others? Yes. I believe in the same way that I share my first and middle name with others. But what I believe is that people should retain the basic right to use their name in any manner of their choosing, regardless of anyone else’s objections.
Regardless, Kyle Korleski is my name. I did not choose that name, it is the one that I have been given by my parents. And yet, this person blames me for using my real name when I post on my blog. In fact, if I can recall, my mother told me once that my father gave me my name. I was named for one of my father’s friends. My blog contains content that is relevant about me. It is put up so people who want to know more about me can find out more about me. And I am very proud of what I write. I stand by it because it is the truth.
