The Darkest Evil

James Mathias has given me the slap I need in the comments of a couple of my posts. He pointed out that I have not been so good in fulfilling the Eight-fold path, the Five moral precepts and a few of the other tenets of Buddhism. Even though I have investigated religion thoroughly and I found that Buddhism is more realistic, logical and it is the best for me - I still haven’t followed the rules of Buddhism to the letter. I have said some very unkind things about Christianity and I have done a few things that are completely against the spirit of Buddhism. So for the time being, I am going to seriously think things through and try to make sure I didn’t just rush foolishly into Buddhism. And even though this is a faith that I truly want to be in, I must reinforce certain parts of my character. Therefore, I have a plan to try to do the right thing and still be prepared to be a better Buddhist in the long run. (more…)

The day before yesterday, I got in touch with a good friend of mine from High School. For privacy’s sake, I’ll keep her name private. In fact, we’ve considered going out together. But when I told her that I’m a Buddhist now - she told me not to tell her family because they might not like that. I’m more than willing to abide by this condition considering that I knew her sister and she was a member of Fellowship of Christian Students. But unfortunately, I could not abide by it for long. As you can see from subscribing to my feed, I do not provide a full feed of content from my blog. And I haven’t been doing so since the start of my blog (as far as I can recall). I don’t ask to be on other people’s blogrolls. While I think it would be nice to be on every blogger’s blogroll and I have no objection to being added or linked to - I just don’t think it’s appropriate to ask to be on another person’s blogroll. I only add people that I know to my blogroll and I mean know as in know in person. Does this mean that if you meet me at WWDC, SxSW or some other conference and if I like your content - I’ll add your blog? No. And asking in person just means I’ll be right there to look at you strangely and go “what the fuck?” I generally like people and I like to expose new and upcoming talent in all mediums. But I only add people that I know, like and know to write great and honest commentary on their blog. If I find your content worthwhile but I haven’t met you IRL - I’ll link in a post. Until then, just keep doing great work. You’ll get noticed. ^_^

I think I may be getting a content writing job with eleven2 soon. For those of you who don’t know, eleven2 is a hosting company that I used to be a customer of in late 2005 and is run by my friend from High School, Rodney Giles. I mean, it’s great to get a job that I can do from abroad. A little extra cash in my pocket and toward my upcoming marriage to Becca. On the surface, this seems like a great opportunity and it is something that I would love to do. But the thing about this job is - do I want it? Can I live with myself writing the sales and support content. Possibly. Let’s look at the facts, shall we? (more…)

I got a letter from the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Vancouver, regarding retaining Polish citizenship. So - I need to do a lot of document hunting, according to what I have from the Polish Consulate-General. And that’s not even the beginning of it - I need to have them translated into Polish. So, basically, it’s going to be one big pain in the ass. I need the following to get my Polish citizenship: (more…)

Okay, so the magnetic power adapter that came with my Apple MacBook Pro is having a bit of a problem so for a while, there may not be any updates to this blog. I will work hard to get a replacement power adapter. I apologize fully to anyone who actually read this blog but fear not because I am going to be on the phone with Apple and hopefully - they will send me a brand new power adaptor. They should, I mean, this really should not have happened.

People seriously suck. I have been contemplating reconsidering my move to Montreal from Calgary but now - I am considering somewhere else. With the exception of one person, everyone else I talked to from Montreal has tried to decieve me. This girl sounded like she was interested in me but I tried to talk to her and she blocked me. I do not understand why and I am greatly hurt that she would not try to resolve any issue she had with me. Some people need to act a little more honourably and with consideration of other people. People should practice more honourable dynamics when it comes to things like blocking people. (more…)
