Arrgh! PayPal Problems

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

As if problems I am facing already large enough, PayPal has locked my account because a former client of mine (Mr. Rehwoldt - thor-rehw@gmx.de) has decided to try to steal a sizable amount of money from me. I worked my ass off for this guy and he screwed me royally. And what’s worse is I still need the money to move to Montreal, Quebec. I have calculated that I need $2480 and I’ve already collected $40 of it. I’ll write an entire post about that tomorrow and I will post a network-wide announcement to try to raise the money I need. But this problem has locked out my PayPal account so I cannot take in more business until I give this guy a refund that he does not deserve. (more…)

Shaun Inman introduces Pagethrough and it rocks!

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Shaun Inman, the maker of the smexy Mint statistics programme that I am so very fond of has introduced a cool little app that I have found to be quite useful. He has introduced a new web-based programme called Pagethrough and what it does is it allows you to flip through all your readme files with much ease. The install process is quite simple and like everything that Mr. Inman has made, it is simply beautiful. This is very useful with copious amounts of FAQs and does not require a MySQL database. New E-mail Subscriptions!

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I was fooling around in the FeedBurner account centre after creating the feed for the commentary on this blog and I found out something cool. Now, my blog has some new e-mail subscription options. Now, don’t get me wrong, we aren’t going to give you the entire post in the e-mail updates - just a taste. This is done through FeedBurner and yes, you can unsubscribe fairly easily if it gets to be too much for you. (more…)

The US v. Canadian Dollar

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

No, this isn’t about currency conversion rates. This is about how both of these were executed. In my opinion, the Canadian Government did a better job introducing the Loonie into Canadian pockets than the US Government did with introducing their Sacagawea dollar coins. Basically, a better name was thought up and used by the populace as a slang term for the dollar coin. The Loonie is a easier term to spell than the Sacagawea dollar coin and I know for a fact that I had to look that up on Google to get the correct spelling. (more…)

An admission of guilt

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

I admit that I have done a few things I have regretted in my past. There are things that I have done to try to get my site ahead before I decided to take a more ethical approach. I admit that I had previously stolen content from a website that is now defunct. A website that went under the name Land of Broken Dreams. For the uninitiated, this was one of North Carolina’s first websites built in 1994 by Kent Annas. However, the site became unavailable in 2004, if my memory serves me correctly. And I thought it would be okay to steal the content from that site. Months later, an administrator at Land of Broken Dreams - Nina - called me on my actions. I immediately took down the infringing content and not a piece of Kent Annas’ intellectual property was ever seen again, until yesterday. (more…)

Things to remember when I get my new job

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

Sorry Mr. Fab, but I had to make a derivation on what you had written about what you should remember on your first day at your new job. Whenever I get a new job or go to another college or to an university, there are a couple of other things that I should remember when I finally go to another college. And considering that I am still waiting for word on my job application at Moo.com, I need to remind myself a couple of things when I get my new job. (more…)

Watch what advice you give to repair men

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

Okay, so a couple of days ago, a guy from Telus came by to hook up my telephone once again. Finally! Anyways, I tell him to watch where he steps and guess what? I stepped on a power adaptor and cut my foot open. It hurt like a mother fucker and it still hurts to walk. Therefore, I spend my time sitting around here with a band-aid on it and some Neosporin. It is as boring as hell and I have very little to do other than design Blackthorne (update on it tomorrow) and write in my blog. Plus, not only that but foolishly confide in girls I meet on online dating websites. Yeah, I know. Really sad.

I am going to write a few more posts because I have so much more to say on numerous topics and I will space them out through the next few days. Bwahaha!

Retrospect on a Sucky Year

Monday, January 1st, 2007

Looking back at 2006, here are my biggest successes and failures. No matter whether they are successes or failures, I have learned immensely from them and I am grateful for the wisdom that I was granted from these experiences.

Biggest Successes

  1. Entry into Canada - On August 31st, 2006, I have successfully achieved my dream of gaining more permanent status in this country as a student, rather than on a TRV. Granted, it expires on July 31st, 2007, but at least I have the most valuable thing in this world that will help my immigration. I have time.
  2. Obtainment of employment - I have successfully obtained employment at a non-profit organization. This makes obtaining a work permit and permanent residence much easier, due to the lack of a labour market opinion. A labour market opinion is the last thing I want due to the time it takes to acquire one and my possible ineligibility. Fortunately, the Province has a great nomination programme.
  3. Moved away from my family - I have moved so far away from my biological family. In fact, this makes me exceedingly happy, considering my family is full of assholes and I could not stand being near them anymore.

Biggest Failures

  1. Alberta Bible College - I am just going to write off the entire experience as a failure. Too many assholes, both in the student body and faculty. I am happy to be out of there but I am sad that they screwed me out of $400 for the chore requirement.
  2. My trust fund is completely depleted - To make it THIS far, I had to deplete the trust fund that my grandmother left me when she died. This was not the greatest option but I do not regret it, seeing as I could not have gotten this far without depleting it. Plus, I can always go to U of C when I get my immigration details all sorted out for permanent residence.
  3. Moved the blog around - I have moved around the blog way too much, breaking many permalinks and ruining my great page rank.
  4. I got wrongly canned at Valero - Okay, this bolstered my reasoning why I should immigrate to Canada, because oil companies have too much power. So much even to violate the laws that regulate labour.

RIP Saddam Hussein

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

Okay, as of this week, Saddam Hussein was executed in Iraq by the gallows. I am not too happy about this, considering that it was televised and it was a murder. Not only did they violate Saddam Hussein’s rights as a human being but he should have been executed in private so that he could at least go with a bit of dignity. People on death row in the United States are usually alone or with those that they select to be in the viewing room when they are to be executed. Two wrongs do not make a right and murdering Saddam Hussein was not right, because all it does is increase the blood on our hands.

It is never right to take another human life. No matter how bad they were, it is not right to take away their life. And for people to be cheering at the death of another human being is just disgusting and wrong. Would you want people cheering at your funeral? If you were being executed with the death penalty, would you want all those who hated you, your exes and everyone that stand against you cheering on the executioners in the waiting room? How can people possibly cheer at this?

Making the rent is hard to do

Friday, December 29th, 2006

I have to find a way to make $450 quickly so I can afford the rent this month. It is getting to be so costly. In fact, I am kind of afraid to ask Shush for a small extension on my rent so I can make the date. I am so tired of this shit. I guess the only way I am going to catch up is by becoming an agent for something like the Sunflower Network. Also, Nicholi is still having trouble registering the non-profit with registries so I can’t apply for my work permit yet. Plus, I don’t have the $150 fee for the work permit. I mean, I don’t see why people wouldn’t want to loan me the money for that. As soon as I get it and Nicholi gets the non-profit registered, I will be able to pay back the loan. After all, I would have a job. I need to get $75 together also to renew my bus pass for next month. Otherwise, I will probably be stuck in this house. Plus, I need the money for the pass before the 10th of next month.

I have this copy of Microsoft Windows that I have not installed on my computer but is opened. Tomorrow, I am going to try to return it at London Drugs tomorrow. I am tired of just skating by each month and plus, I have very little money to eat on so I am screwed on that end. What a shame too, considering I have been craving Taco Bell for the longest time. Plus, I want to get some of those Moo.com cards and I would like to get my phone line moved over here. I am also having my copy of Poser 7 returned so I can have $250 USD transferred into Canada. Plus, I am begging the owner of the Sunflower Network to allow me to work on that project as soon as possible. I will probably offer to redesign their website for them for free.
