Got a response from Jelsoft about my C&D I sent to them

I got a response from Jelsoft about a Cease and Desist order I sent them recently. Basically, if you don’t know the situation, people on vB.org are constantly abusing the feedback feature and posting libellous content about me and my business on vB.org. So, out of desperation, I wrote a Cease & Desist order to Jelsoft about the matter (hasn’t appeared on Chillingeffects.org yet) and Ashley Bubsy took the ticket. Anyway, I got a reply today stating
Bearing in mind that we do keep a close eye on these sorts of things and providing that they are in the rules, they are allowed. This enables others to provide their side of the story, without namecalling or posting personal data so that users can share their experiences. These threads are monitored and cleaned up if appropriate and the threads that you have highlighted are within these guidelines. As you have mentioned that we have received your final communication, please consider that matter concluded.”

Just when you think he couldn’t get worse

Today, I made a few posts on the Pirate Reports forums advocating for Bittorrent and Mr. Howard Spinks took what I said and twisted it into something completely awful. Mr. Spinks does not value the freedom of speech, despite the fact that his clients, Jelsoft and phpFoX, would not be where they are now without the creativity that they gained from the freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is very important in our society and it is what had made countries like Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States so very desirable to live in. The erosion of Freedom of Speech and habeas corpus is the reason that more and more US and UK citizens are immigrating to Canada, where human rights are still being respected. (more…)
