Goodbye world!

I am hereby closing my blog and closing off each and every facet of my Internet life within the next 1-4 months. This means that I’ll start selling domains that I have not used, closing sites with little to no activity and closing IM accounts. In fact, the only sites I run that will be somewhat updated are this blog and a few other sites that I have promised to launch. Furthermore, I will still be running my own web design business, but only for a small amount of clients. And I will resurface in a few months with a new identity which will not be disclosed here or elsewhere. But my point is that I want to disconnect from my current life and move on to a new life. Postal is now an universal binary

One of my favourite games to play for the computer has always been Postal 2. And what makes me happy is that I didn’t have to lose playing Postal 2 when I made my switch from Windows to Mac. And now, a good thing has been made better now that the original Postal has been turned into an Universal binary. And for $10, it’s a real bargain. The original is not polluted with side tasks or too much backstory (if you like that sort of thing) but it is a very violent game for those who just want to relieve a little stress. And yes, it is VERY effective - I find myself playing a little Postal 2 or Postal 2: Apocalypse Weekend every now and then.

Three reasons why I won’t be buying an iPhone

Today, the iPhone went on sale, but I’m not in line to get one. And I’m not going to be for quite some time. It’s not just because of the money, but it’s also because of the three very important reasons. The first is it just isn’t worth it to spend the money on an iPhone. The second reason is that it’s the first generation model and I’m going to hold out until the iPhone starts getting into it’s third generation model. The third is it’s exclusivity with the evil telephone monopoly known as AT&T. I explain my reasons in more detail below. Continue reading ‘Three reasons why I won’t be buying an iPhone’

My little list

If you are as paranoid as I am, building and maintaining an enemies list is an absolute must. And this list is logical because it is all the people, companies and things that really irk me. (Thanks to Mr. Fab for the Idea: Making a list, checking it twice…) Continue reading ‘My little list’

So, I’m 20 now?

On Friday, I was officially 20 years old and I’m kind of in awe about that. Honestly, I’m still wondering how I made it this far without going completely insane, becoming completely anti-social (only partially anti-social) or losing my way. It kind of gives you an odd feeling inside that maybe I should have done more with my life. But looking at this logically, I have done a pretty fair amount with my life, which is something that I was not truly expecting. But now, I am drafting a plan for what I want to do with my life from here on out. There are a few things happening in my life which are kind of hush hush, but I am leaving around little hints and clues as to what they are around the net. However, I believe in honesty and I believe in truth. And I believe that I should tell you all what I am planning to do really soon. Continue reading ‘So, I’m 20 now?’

Getting my foot out of my mouth - a retraction

I am going to make a few statements about some things I’ve said in previous posts about my father. In past posts, I called my father a “con man” and in my rant against country music, I said a few things that may be interpreted wrong. I am going to retract my first statement and clarify the second. Now, first off, I know that my father isn’t a con man and while he used to do a few things that I didn’t really agree with, I had no right to say that. I am truly proud of him and how much he is improving in becoming a better person. While there are a few things that he says that still make me cringe a little, I know that the intent to be a good person is in his heart and I truly care for him and love him. He is not a con man and I believe that when I wrote that, I was kind of hurting at the time. Still, that does not excuse my actions or make them right. What I did was wrong, regardless. Been Busy for the Week

Okay, so WHAT have I been doing this past week? Well, I’ve been doing a number of things including working on the brand new THL.org and a few other secret projects that I have going on in the works. I have also been working on some heavy personal issues and I am hoping to move into the Houston core really soon. This would make it a lot easier to find more stable work (the freelance work I do is nice, don’t get me wrong, but I have to find more stable employment) and do a vast amount of other things that I have been meaning to do. So, I apologize that I haven’t really been posting much to the blog, I just have a lot on my mind at the moment.

It all just clicked!

Alright, in the past few days that I have been blogging, I have had quite a few personal developments. I am so delighted that everything is coming together and I am excited about my future now. In fact, I am hoping that these developments in my future (plus other, more private developments) will lead to my happiness or a plan to make me a bit more happy. Or at least, if I find myself, I may be able to live a more fulfilling life. Continue reading ‘It all just clicked!’

My 20th birthday is coming up

Before you read this, yes it is a gift me-me. And yes, I am writing this with the hopeful mentality that I may very well get something for my birthday. This is because I had to leave a lot of shit back in Canada and I had to bring the most minimal of stuff back to the United States, a bit of it being lost along the way. I am writing this for anyone who may be reading this who may want to send me a gift. Or some people who are guilty of doing something negative towards my Canadian Immigration and want to try to alleviate themselves of said guilt (looking at a few people). Having said that, I am going to continue on to the upcoming post. Continue reading ‘My 20th birthday is coming up’

Macrabbit released CSSEdit 2.5 and it’s very smexy!

25/04/07 0 comments

Macrabbit just recently released CSSEdit 2.5 to the general public. Now, CSSEdit is one of my favourite power toys (tomorrow, I’ll discuss power toys for the Mac) for the Mac and it gives me the power to do so much with my current style sheets. It has a beautiful way to validate style sheets with W3C standards. And of course, it still has the smexy features it always had such as Milestones, Live Preview and Xray. And this has not been replicated in applications like Panic’s Coda (which costs a US$69 if you own a Transmit licence). Also, Macrabbit added a beautiful new welcome page for CSSEdit 2.5 (compared to the one that Macrabbit made for CSSEdit 2.0).

I’ve chosen to publicly release my stats

30/03/07 2 comments

For anyone that is actually interested in how well this site does, I have decided to publicly release the statistical data for my personal weblog. Sometimes, I will blog according to the stats and make general comments regarding my research in that topic, so if you want to know why exactly I am posting about a certain event or what not, you could check the stats and see what I was thinking when I posted that.

9rules Round 5.5

22/03/07 3 comments

9rules round 5.5 - okay, you are probably looking at me like I’m weird(er) thinking (or saying) “Kyle, there is no such thing as a half-round in 9rules” And normally, I’d agree with you. But Tyme announced that she is going to re-review the submissions from round 5 based on several very important factors - one of which being hosting problems. Considering that I moved my blog after round 5 started, there was a problem. And that’s why I was rejected for round 5. (more…)

How much HAVE I made with PayPerPost by the way?

07/03/07 1 comment

One has to wonder how much I have made so far with PayPerPost and I am willing to tell you. So far, I’ve only seen $5 USD from PayPerPost because almost every time I wrote something, they would nit pick about my posts. I am not too happy about that and considering some of the opportunities (like Credit Card Applications) are not exactly that ethical to promote, I would not do so. Knowing what *I* know about credit cards, I would not recommend them for anyone.) But for blogs that can put an ethical spin on Credit Cards, well that’s respectable and they deserve the income. But there are other ways to make money with PayPerPost. (more…)

Everyone’s a Critic. Why not get paid for it?

16/02/07 0 comments

There are things that I would love to do to generate traffic on my blog. I love to be read and to be recognized and I would do a lot to reward those that link to my posts. In fact, if you make a post on your blog, linking to my blog - or if you just add me to your blogroll, I will try to link in kind. Now, I’ve found that PayPerPost has decided to start paying about money (US$7.50) for posts about member’s blogs and I am (technically) still a member. So, I would urge you to take this opportunity to critique my blog. (more…)
