Redesigning The Darkest Evil

Monday, June 4th, 2007

I am working to redesign the Darkest Evil so I can see what I can do to find out more about myself and I want to finish up Blackthorne. This redesign of my weblog includes a logo, a cool little printed version, a business card template and other things about the site. And this redesign hopefully gets me into design galleries such as Light on Dark. But I really hope that it gets a few people reading my site as I believe that everything I write about my life experiences can help people. In fact, even though some of it is really random, other things are really helpful to some. And with the podcast I am creating, I want to be able to promote the latest episode and still be able to avoid alienating my current readers. (more…)

Going to be doing Karaoke again!

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Well, I plan to be doing Karaoke again to some more of my favourite songs. Karaoke is really fun and I’ve never really had the courage to do it, but I guess if I do it and post it to the Internet, it will not be so bad. I mean, I’ve already posted a Karaoke version of “In a Big Country” by Big Country to Spymac so it shouldn’t be too much worse, right? Plus, I want to do this because after you’re done, it’s fun to sit back and watch it again before you upload it for the world to see. I am going to post links to all the Karaoke songs on the blog so you can keep track of them when they are updated. So, I am going to be doing Karaoke singing again and I hope that you all enjoy it. I know that I will.

Still suffering with writer’s block

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

I want to thank everyone for checking the blog. I really do appreciate everyone’s support. And I am happy that people are reading the blog, I’m happy that people are reading my new blog, Dorkly Cute. I’m also happy that everything is going so well. Everything is turning out to be well and I am working to make it so that everyone can be happy. And this is not just about the blog, but about my offline life as well. But I am going to explain what has happened in the last week so I can give everyone reading a little clarity on the future of this blog and of my life. So, I feel this is a very important article to be read if you pay attention to this blog. (more…)

Famfamfam Redux

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Okay, before I say anything, let me tell you that I do like the design of the Famfamfam Silk icons and I will be using them (as sparingly as possible) in my design. Now that I’ve said that, I can rant without any fear of being labelled a hypocrite later. But I have dabbled in using something else (despite being unable to find any other icon sets that are of as high quality as Famfamfam - for free). (more…)

I hate country music

Friday, May 11th, 2007

I hate country music and I have since I was very little. I was born in California and I was uprooted from California and forced to move to Texas, so I had to put up with Country music when travelling around. Unfortunately, my sister was afflicted by this and she now refers to herself as a Texan. I feel so sorry for her, because she was born in California, just like me. She let Texas and all of it’s terrible factions and evils, such as country music, afflict her. And she is not a free thinker, unfortunately. In fact, because of Texas, country music and everything in southern US culture, she is strongly thinking about going into the United States Armed Forces. (more…)

A picture a day, means the iSight should stay

Monday, May 7th, 2007

I have been wanting to do this for a long time and now, I am going to do this. I am going to try to make a honest effort to take at least one picture of myself and upload it to Flickr every day. For those of you uninitiated with my computer setup, I own a MacBook Pro so this should be really easy. So I am going to use an iSight camera (which is equipped just above the monitor), Apple’s fun little Photo Booth application, Tristan O’Tierney’s FlickrBooth, and a Pro Flickr Account. So this is what I am using for my equipment, so now - I have very little excuse to do this. So, let’s let the fun begin and I’ll explain how I plan to go about this. (more…)

Why I am a designer

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

I am a designer and I became one out of ethical principles. It’s not about the money (even then, it’s not like I make THAT much anyway) I am a designer because I am an artist. A visionary. An idealist. And most of all, a creative professional. I make my living by creating works of art which make people think. I turn boring, drab business websites into pieces of art that can spring them into a creative set of mind. I am a designer because it is the field which appeals the most to me. And it’s something that I can do ethically. (more…)

My first book will actually be free to download

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

My first book that I am writing, Conned by Christians, will be available for free as an electronic version or as a physical book (which I will probably make a $1 or $2 profit off of it). Just so you know, I will be distributing it on kylekorleski.com and thedarkestevil.com. I feel that the message that it contains is to important to limit to those who can pay for the book. It’s important to know about the problems in Bible Colleges and how Christians are ultimately the biggest threat to Christianity. So, if you are looking at an in-depth examination of why the attendance rates for church are at an all time low or if you are considering a Bible College, I highly request that you download and read the book once it is available. And if you have friends in the faith that are considering bible college, this book could be the best gift you can give them.

A goal of mine - to improve my writing skills

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

So, basically I have a goal with this blog and that is to improve my writing skills. You know from reading this that I use terms such as basically and essentially too much. And not only that but with my site’s page rank rising up to 4 and some of my subpages reaching page ranks of 3 and 2, I am very proud that my blog is finally gaining recognition and readership. Plus, my FeedBurner readership more than doubled from 14 to the upper 30s. I feel proud that more and more people are reading my personal weblog and commenting on what I write. But one thing is still lacking and that would be my writing skills. (more…)

Differences in my writing and blogging styles

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

In my writing, there are a couple of differences between in my writing style versus my blogging style. And you will know more about that once you see the book I am writing. I plan to keep hush about the project and I hope that everyone who reads my book will become pleasantly surprised. But I know that some people will read this blog and go “Kyle, if you can barely write a blog - how can you POSSIBLY write a book? It has to be longer than all the posts of your blog combined in order to be considered a book rather than a pamphlet.” And the thing is I agree with them, because I know I have two different literary styles.
