Three reasons why I won’t be buying an iPhone

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Today, the iPhone went on sale, but I’m not in line to get one. And I’m not going to be for quite some time. It’s not just because of the money, but it’s also because of the three very important reasons. The first is it just isn’t worth it to spend the money on an iPhone. The second reason is that it’s the first generation model and I’m going to hold out until the iPhone starts getting into it’s third generation model. The third is it’s exclusivity with the evil telephone monopoly known as AT&T. I explain my reasons in more detail below. (more…)

Macrabbit released CSSEdit 2.5 and it’s very smexy!

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Macrabbit just recently released CSSEdit 2.5 to the general public. Now, CSSEdit is one of my favourite power toys (tomorrow, I’ll discuss power toys for the Mac) for the Mac and it gives me the power to do so much with my current style sheets. It has a beautiful way to validate style sheets with W3C standards. And of course, it still has the smexy features it always had such as Milestones, Live Preview and Xray. And this has not been replicated in applications like Panic’s Coda (which costs a US$69 if you own a Transmit licence). Also, Macrabbit added a beautiful new welcome page for CSSEdit 2.5 (compared to the one that Macrabbit made for CSSEdit 2.0).

Why I use .mac

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Yes, that is right - I use Apple’s series of tools available to Mac users for US$100 a year. There are a great number of reasons behind this and I am willing to explain them all in great detail. They range from secure instant messaging, superior back up services, synchronization between other Macintosh computers and IMAP-based e-mail account. I use those services mainly but there are other services which I use just because I can and I have found good uses for them. (more…)

I am not obsessed, I am an Apple evangelist!

Friday, March 16th, 2007

A girl that I very well may be dating soon stated “r u apple obsesing again????”. I playfully agreed and then she said “wow…..it must b on ur brain like 24/7 i bet u dream about it”. I became worried that she may have misunderstood so I denied it and needless to say, she wasn’t entirely convinced. So I feel I should state that I am not truly Apple obsessed, I am just an Apple evangelist. So I have decided to write a little blurb about Apple evangelism and how it differs from obsession. Hell is interacting with your roommates

Sunday, March 11th, 2007

I’m back at the computer store - for the third time since my MacBook Pro’s AC Adapter fried. You see, I thought I would be able to study the Dharma and become a better buddhist while I am waiting for my MacBook Pro’s AC Adapter to come in the mail. Wrong! You see, recently my roommate is becoming more and more annoying with his accusations that I am stealing his food. WTF? I stole absolutely nothing from that asshole because (a) it is wrong to steal from someone and (b) he has nothing I’d want. In fact, earlier yesterday - he made a false accusation that I stole his Doritos. Wrong! (more…)

Called Apple

Friday, March 9th, 2007

Okay, so I called Apple (I am posting this at a local computer store) and basically it will take a few days for me to get my AC adapter. So I should be back on early next week. So stay smexy, m’kay?

No laptop for a little while

Thursday, March 8th, 2007

Okay, so the magnetic power adapter that came with my Apple MacBook Pro is having a bit of a problem so for a while, there may not be any updates to this blog. I will work hard to get a replacement power adapter. I apologize fully to anyone who actually read this blog but fear not because I am going to be on the phone with Apple and hopefully - they will send me a brand new power adaptor. They should, I mean, this really should not have happened.

Macs - for business, pleasure or both?

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

On The Apple Blog, they raise the question whether or not Macs are for business and with the advent of cool modifications to the Macintosh like Apple Boot Camp or Parallels Desktop for Mac allowing you to run Windows. But this also leads to more execs seeing the awesome power of Macs in their native form, not just with Windows. And this is good because I would say that to get a mac to use it exclusively for Windows is a sin against your Mac. (more…)
